GREECE – Refugees camps on Lesbos
In May 2018, Pilar Buira Ferre, Catherine Habasque and Kilian Haselbeck visited the island of Lesbos to initiate a program of support for the camp residents. In these camps, occupied largely by young men, the unsustainable inaction often turns into aggression. Dance helps to control these emotions and to reframe them.
Any improvement in the situation has a positive impact on the difficult lives of women and refugee children.
The Lesbos project is slightly different from our usual projects. We wish to give classes on a regular basis, the training being taken up in our absence by a Syrian dancer from the camp. Every support is welcome.
